The Tomb Raider games need no introduction. When the first game came out in 1996 on the Playstation it was an instant success. Lara Croft became a worldwide star overnight so naturally work on a sequel commenced immediately and it came out a mere year later. Improving on the original in every way, Tomb Raider II received near universal acclaim.
For those of us wanting to relive the classic Tomb Raider games there is good news, last year the original was released on iOS and now it is Tomb Raider II’s turn.
This time round Lara is searching for the Dagger of Xian, and it takes her on a journey across China, Venice, a sunken ship and Tibet. Also included in the iOS release of Tomb Raider II is the Golden Mask expansion, adding a few extra levels for even more gaming fun.
It looks like they kept the control scheme of the first Tomb Raider port, which took some getting used too but it did the trick once you get the hang on it.
This iOS version also features nice HD graphics.
For the low price of $1.99, this really is a steal. It remains a great game today even if the mechanics will feel a bit outdated to younger gamers.
